As the Investec Cape Town Art Fair dominates the city’s culture scene this weekend, you’d be forgiven for missing some of the smaller exhibitions taking place. The most important one being, undoubtedly, Ardmore Ceramics’ Voyage of Discovery, taking place from today until Sunday at The Cellars-Hohenort hotel in Constantia.
Next year, Ardmore founder Fee Halsted celebrates her 60th birthday. To mark the occasion, she and the Ardmore artists have created a range that captures the spirit of travel and exploration on the African continent.
From elephants carried by hot air balloon to mermaids on whale back, each piece is carefully crafted and painted by hand in the traditional of the Ardmore brand. Each piece will be on display – and for sale – at the Voyage of Discovery exhibition taking place this weekend.
