Celebrating five years of contemporary South African art, from 14 to 16 July the fifth edition of the Turbine Art Fair is taking place at Newtown’s historic Turbine Hall. Firmly established as a must-attend event on the local art calendar, visitors are given the opportunity to view and buy quality artwork from emerging and established talent in a fun and un-daunting way.

Enjoy art, sculpture, live music and artisan food, all curated within Newtown’s heritage building, a refurbished power station and architectural masterpiece in itself. Highlights at this year’s event include an exhibition of Anton Taljaard’s Pierneef collection as well as art talks curated by art advisor Makgati Molebatsi.

‘The Turbine Art Fair has undoubtedly made its mark as a not-to-be-missed event for art lovers and those looking to learn more about South Africa’s rich art scene. With over 50 galleries and exhibits from across South Africa there’s bound to be something to catch everyone’s eye.’ – Glynis Hyslop, TAF Fair Director.
