Easter holidays are fun because there are always activities to partake in. If you happen to be in Johannesburg these Easter Holidays, here are 5 events to attend that will keep you happy.

1. Soweto Camp Festival (14-17 April)

The Soweto Camp Festival is a three-day camping and musical festival that takes place annually during the Easter weekend. Campers can enjoy a great line-up of activities including quad biking, bungee jumping, indigenous games, live bands and various stalls. This year they would also like to get the whole of Soweto to turn off their electricity from 6pm-7pm on the first day of the camp, to spread awareness about electricity consumption.

2. Easter Folk Market (15 April)

The Forest’s Easter Folk Market is an annual Easter event that takes place In The Forest Venue. Expect to see unique handmade products or take a stroll through the forest and spot the little fairies on the mystical forest paths. There is also mouth-watering food from yummy baked treats to food trucks offering a variety of different flavours and goodies as well as some fun entertainment for kids. It only costs R25 per person to be a part of this fun event.

3. Easter Night Hunt (16 April)

Looking to do something fun for the kids this Easter weekend? Then the Walter Sisulu National Botanical Gardens is the place to be.
You can bring a picnic basket and blanket along and enjoy an evening of family fun and lots of chocolates. Kids will get to do a magical egg hunt and there will be other activities including a jar-decorating competition and the opportunity to meet the Beacon Easter bunny in the fur.

4. The First Locrate Picnic (16 April)

This picnic offers the perfect day out for the whole family: there are great jazz tunes to set the mood, craft beer and Warwick Wine Estate tastings for adults. There are also a lot of nostalgic games for children. This event will take place at The Constitution Hill.

5. The Rand Show (14-23 April)

Johannesburg Expo Centre will be hosting this exciting family festival. Filled with great entertainment, loads of adrenaline and new features, The Rand Show promises to be bigger, better and more exciting than ever before.
