Pop Art

Eyewear brand Retrosuperfuture has released a collection of sunglasses, inspired by the late father of pop art, Andy Warhol.

The collaboration with the Andy Warhol Foundation marks the fourth year Retrosuperfuture has paid homage to the visual artist.

The range of sunglasses are printed with the late artist’s illustrations of eyes and pupils, adding a quirky aspect to the designs.

“You really get excited when you have access to this historical treasure,” the designers told Dezeen.

“It allows us to create unique creativity while celebrating Art: We have access to Andy Warhol’s archives, thousands of images, sketches, photos, documents, illustrations, notes and quotes.”

The brand wanted to create contemporary pieces that utilise modern technology and materials, while still referencing the pop-art movement.
