Mema Designs (Above)

The Mema Designs Fan Light is a mesmerising look at next-gen industrial materials. ‘It creates a feature artwork in a space and, being upturned and backlit, it gives viewers a chance to admire its construction up close,’ says Mema Designs co-owner Sian Eliot of the recently unveiled Fan Light. ‘They feel like interior jewellery.’ The lights are constructed using a unique – and highly durable – anodised aluminium mesh fabric.

Creators of progressive, elegant furniture and handcrafted decor objet d’art, OKHA is inspired by a contemporary aesthetic: A respect for materials and traditional craftsmanship and quality show through in every piece. From the new range of products – from lighting to sofas to seating – is Traffic – Broad, a polished, industrial-like fixture featuring a stainless steel base and coated metal shade. Whether in black or white matte finish, the lamp’s many indents allow light to splinter out through each orifice.

Husband-and-wife team driven by a passion for creating timeless designs, Johan and Lene’ Botha of Woltemade present a minimalist lantern-like lamp and solid brass cantilever base. The design celebrates solid material engineered to precision, and, available in midnight blue or white, suits various interior settings.

From Willowlamp’s 2018 collection, newly launched at the Youngblood Gallery in Bree Street, Cape Town, comes Single Spiral Tree: A design inspired by a massive tree forest installation in a private home in London. The lustrious design is an evolution of Willowlamp’s Enchanted faraway tree, which fuses all the branches into a single elegant spiralling frame.
