Five million children in South Africa don’t know the feeling of home and the warmth of a parent’s love. At KIN Culture, a Western Cape-based NPO, a community of volunteers work to find orphans and children at risk a loving home. Through their ‘product with a cause’ and volunteer initiatives, children are given the opportunity of a bright future.
‘Our products are best defined as designing with humanity,’ says KIN Culture Shop co-founder and creative Simone Greyvenstein. ‘Each product has a story: a story of collaboration, inspiration and hope. We value creativity in the people of our nation and the potential of communities to unlock futures.’
‘Our products are handmade in South Africa with quality materials and excellent craftsmanship. We believe in products with a cause. Every item you purchase is an investment in orphans and vulnerable children,’ concludes Simone.
From ceramic bowls and side plates to linen cloths, napkins and knitted throws, the collection is available to shop online, with proceeds going towards KIN Culture. Every product is hand-crafted by a community of Cape Town-based artisans, all passionate about the foundation they’re representing. By supporting these creations, you too form part of the KIN Culture community.
