At Home With Shiela Ho & Country Road

The way we enjoy slow mornings, relaxed afternoons and restful evenings in our homes, is influenced by the design of our surroundings. Decorating with the right textures and colours, choosing the perfect rug for a room and a cosy throw with a luxurious feel are examples of items that play a part in creating an atmosphere of comfort in the home.

Shiela Ho’s must have comfort living item is the XL King size bed. ‘We spend so much time in this bed as a family, our kids love to cuddle with us when we watch a movie together.

‘For me, no matter what, it is important to get the best quality of bed. You shouldn’t try to save money on a bed, because you spend so much time of your life in it.’

Shiela has recently added items from Country Road’s new homeware collection to her living space and loves the way they have complimented the look of her home.

‘I’m a big fan of minimalism and like to decorate and equip my space with a simple and classic look. My favourite items are the throws, especially now as the cooler days are coming. We all love to snuggle up in blankets.

‘I can also change the look of a room so quickly by adding other throws or blankets with different prints and colours to it. The next item I’m definitely going to invest in will be one of their stunning quilt covers and I’m slowly replacing my current kitchen crockery with Country Road pieces.’

Shiela and her family enjoy spending time together at home and participating in exciting activities together.

‘In summer we are mostly outside in the pool and on the jungle gym, my father and grandfather-in-law built for our kids. This is very special to us, because it will grow with the kids and when they get older they can build onto it.

‘At the moment we are building a playroom for the little ones. Winter season is around the corner and we will be done just in time to spend loads of time in the new room. I’m trying to pack the room with lots of cool things for them to play with. But for now, we read books. My son is obsessed with books.’
