The renovation of a Haussmann-style apartment in Paris, conducted by French designer Patricia Mauguy Flores from PFB Design, is a statement in European style. Its chic and edgy finishes, not to mention unashamed colour displays, are a statement in art-inspired interior design.

The restoration of this private residence was handed to Patricia by a young family that trusted the designer’s talent for mixing modernism and tradition, comfort and originality, while effectively transforming the house into a unique space. French furniture brand BRABBU – where fierceness, strength and power dominate the design ethos – came together with Patricia to create an eclectic home that speaks to its French style.

The designer selected the finest materials and worked on a bold association of colours in order to make the spacious apartment an elegant and stylish household. The primary goal was clear: to enhance and magnify the high ceilings and ornate mouldings with luxury furniture and a creative colour scheme. With this in mind, it was in the living area and the contiguous dining room that Patricia decided to include two dissimilar models of armchairs from BRABBU – Dukono and Namib, respectively. And, with the aim of matching the overall colour palette, the designer opted to personalise the chairs with different fabrics. Placed in a common area, set as a place for reading in the middle of the living room, Dukono armchair stands out from the neutral background with its bold purple hue.

Positioned at both ends of the dining table, Namib armchairs were custom-made to perfectly match the room’s design. These invigorating, balanced and curved armchairs are master creations, where wood and velvet transform a classic into the avant-garde. The chamber has plenty of natural light, giving it greater height that allowed the designer to go for a bold turquoise set of chairs, garnished with pillows printed in a fantasy scheme.

The rest of the apartment introduces a mix of colours – mustard and burgundy in the living area – to a subtle, yet equally grand bedroom chamber and white-marbled bathroom. Each room is a journey, a story, and an ode to artistry.
