Following her ‘perfect room’ formula in the residential and boutique hotel industries, Beverley Boswell is known for creating some of Franschhoek’s most beautiful interiors. Combining stately aesthetics with practicality, she succeeds in creating aspirational living spaces for her clientele.
With international design experience in both London and New York, Beverley is unerring with global trends and demands, from finely chosen fabrics to bespoke detailing and luxury fittings. Now based in Franshhoek, her knowledge of local trade and South African design blends to form a finely tailored design experience.
Most recently, Beverley has overseen the redesign of The Bar at Franschhoek’s Le Quartier Français. The refurbishment took an alarmingly short eight weeks – completed in the time LQF closed over its quieter winter period. While respecting the integrity of the original Cape Victorian building in which it lives, the space conjures up a cool, intimate atmosphere. Its blue colour palette, inspired by the hues of Cape Dutch Delft, results in a crisp, modern space with a sense of history.
Relax on the BB Design bespoke sofa and chairs, made by Moorgas & Sons and upholstered in imported fabric from Manuel Canovas and Thibaut. The art deco-inspired oak and smoked-mirrored bar reflects the texture created from raffia wallcovering and velvet upholstery. The Bar at LQF is a credit to Beverley’s signature style of textures and layering, creating a luxurious, welcoming interior.
