The inaugural Gourmet Awards, sponsored by Valprè and Klein Constantia, launches on 6 December 2016 with a glittering cocktail party at the wine estate. Among the seven categories is Reader’s Choice Award, as voted by the public.

Found in the small trout-fishing town of Dullstroom, The Art of Food is invites guest to rediscover the joy of food with their creative cooking. Owners Dave Pym and chef Christine Hamman have cleverly fused plaaskos and modern gastronomy, and with a deli downstairs and gourmet restaurant upstairs, they’ve created a new restaurant category and named it ‘plaasy’ – classy with touch of plaas.

Boiler Room Cafe

Owned and run by husband and wife team, Graham & Gina Neilson, The Boiler Room Cafe serves locally sourced cuisine that constantly changes with each season. Whether you want a quick nibble or to relax in our open plan eatery, the Boiler Room aims to make cafe food a little more exciting and your day a little brighter.

Duchess of Wisbeach

With elegant, yet playful interior design, the Duchess of Wisbeach serves a country-style menu with contemporary plating. The oversized paintings, ornate mirrors and small porcelain objects on every table, this restaurant is charming and familiar.

The Leopard

Johannesburg

The Leopard restaurant offers international food in a casual setting and is owned and run by Andrea Burgener and Nick Gordon. The menu changes frequently according to availability of fresh ingredients and chef Andrea’s whim.
