The Western Cape is home to world-class wine routes, a brandy route, and even an olive route. To celebrate World Gin Day, Cape Town’s chic Pepper Club Hotel & Spa launched the Cape Town Gin Route on 9 June. People came out, despite the grumpy weather – who could say no to gorgeous views from the 20th-floor penthouse suite, fine food, mingling with pretty people and swirling premium gin flavours from six inner-city distilleries?
The Cape Town Gin Route includes Hope on Hopkins, Musgrave Gin, the Woodstock Gin Company, New Harbour Distillery, Pienaar & Son and the Cape Town Gin Company – all within six kilometers from the Pepper Club Hotel. You can select, taste and purchase from more than twenty of the finest gins available.
The Pepperclub Hotel & Spa’s general manager, Efi Ella says, ‘As a proudly inner-city hotel, we saw this as an opportunity to celebrate the exceptional gin that is being produced locally – which, we would argue is even better than its international counterparts. We are honoured to be associated with these incredible distilleries and provide a platform where users can plan their own journey of gin discovery, that is likely right on their doorstep.’
