A Warm Winter Awaits At Time Out Market Cape Town Now

This season, the Mother City’s best chefs bring warmth, flavour and comfort together under one vibrant roof

As winter settles over the Mother City, there’s a familiar shift towards slower evenings, shared tables and meals that warm from the inside out. At Time Out Market Cape Town, the season is being celebrated in full — with a new menu designed to embrace comfort, indulgence and the joy of eating well indoors.

A Seasonal Shift Towards Comfort

Set inside the historic Old Power Station at the V&A Waterfront, the market has become a cornerstone of Cape Town’s dining scene, bringing together some of the city’s most exciting chefs under one roof. This winter, that offering feels especially considered.

“Our chefs have really leaned into what winter means for Cape Town. It is about comfort, but it’s also about flavour, generosity, and dishes that feel a little indulgent. This menu reflects that; it’s the kind of food you crave when the temperature drops,” says Russ Meyer, General Manager of Time Out Market Cape Town.

The concept remains simple but effective: rather than choosing a single restaurant, visitors can curate their own dining experience — moving between kitchens, layering flavours and cuisines into one shared table.

A Menu Made For Indulgence

Across the market, winter reveals itself in deeply satisfying ways. At Yard, the Salami Tartufo pizza leans into rich, truffle-forward flavours, available in both Californian and Neapolitan styles. Carné delivers a creamy Alfredo pasta with chicken — the kind of dish that defines comfort dining.

Seafood lovers can turn to OPA! for simply prepared line fish, while Kapoochka brings bold flavour with a fragrant Goan prawn curry, a highlight of the evening. For something lighter, NØSH offers a winter-style salad bowl that still feels satisfying, while Una Más leans into layered comfort with its enchiladas suizas.

Dessert, naturally, is not an afterthought. Unframed Ice Cream rounds things off with a seasonal waffle topped with honeycomb, dark chocolate sauce and candied pecans — a fittingly indulgent finish.

More Than Just A Meal

Beyond the food, the market continues to evolve into a winter social hub. With live music, quiz nights and a rotating calendar of events, it offers more than just a place to eat — it’s somewhere to linger.

“The beauty of the Market in winter is that it brings everything together,” Meyer adds. “Food, drinks, music all in one space that feels warm and alive, even when it’s grey outside.”

A Winter Destination In Its Own Right

Available from May through to September 2026, the seasonal menu positions Time Out Market Cape Town as more than a dining destination — it’s an experience. One that captures the essence of winter in the city: communal, comforting and full of flavour.

In a season that often calls for staying in, this is one place that makes stepping out feel entirely worth it.
