Bright Side
Bold use of primary-colour accents against a neutral backdrop create the ultimate cook’s playground
Through a symbiosis between architectural designer Cecilia Fraser and kitchen carpenter Gustav Schilbach, this contemporary country kitchen ticks all the boxes. Multiple cooking stations, including a pizza oven and outside gas hob, are separated by folding, stacking windows and a bar counter, making for seamless integration between indoor and outdoor spaces.
A private library of cookbooks takes pride of place in a built-in bookshelf framing the counter beside the kitchen island for ease of access.
Dining options include a family breakfast nook ensconced in a glass box of metal windows, and an eight- to 12-seater Scandinavian-esque dining table of American oak by bespoke local furniture designer Marc Pincente. ‘It’s a kitchen that quite simply works for a family who loves to entertain,’ says Cecilia.
