A Seafront Villa in Cyprus Where Classical Architecture Meets Modern Calm

This reimagined family villa pairs a classically inspired exterior with serene contemporary interiors, creating a home that feels both timeless and personal.

Perched on the beachfront in Limassol, Cyprus, this expansive family villa is a lesson in understated luxury.

Every room is designed with restraint, allowing proportion, light, and craftsmanship to take centre stage.

While its Mediterranean-inspired exterior was redesigned to remain in harmony with the surrounding residential estate, the interiors tell a very different story – one defined by warm minimalism, natural materials, and attentive craftsmanship.

A bespoke travertine table creates a striking setting for family meals and effortless entertaining.

Originally left vacant for several years, the home was completely transformed by designer Yulia Romanova, who created the interiors for her own family.

The streamlined kitchen balances understated beauty with the practicality of everyday family life.

Working alongside Mema Architects, she reconfigured the nearly 1,000-square-metre residence to better suit family life, introducing generous living spaces, additional bedrooms, and a seamless connection between the indoors and the out.

Oak, wood, and natural materials are layered with precision, adding richness without overwhelming the interiors.

At the heart of the home is a striking double-volume entrance hall anchored by a sculptural staircase. Flooded with natural light from a large skylight above, it acts as both an architectural focal point and the thread that connects all three levels of the residence.

Clean lines and a restrained material palette keep the focus on the surrounding architecture.

Throughout the interiors, the palette remains intentionally restrained.

Generous proportions and soft daylight turn the private spaces into restful retreats.

The open-plan living spaces flow effortlessly between lounge, dining room and kitchen, while concealed service areas ensure everyday functionality never interrupts the home's refined aesthetic.

Designed around togetherness, the open-plan living room effortlessly connects family life with entertaining.

Off-white walls, white oak flooring and bespoke oak joinery are paired with travertine and marble, creating spaces that feel calm, tactile, and timeless.

Nearly every built-in element was custom-designed, reinforcing the home's calm sense of cohesion.

Stone surfaces and refined finishes create spaces that feel more like boutique hotel suites than everyday bathrooms.

Upstairs, the private family quarters continue the same language of simplicity, offering peaceful spaces framed by soft natural light.

Thoughtfully curated furnishings and unique details bring warmth to the home's minimalist aesthetic.

Art also plays a defining role throughout the home.

Works by modern masters including Matisse, Kandinsky, Picasso and Chagall punctuate the interiors, while one of the most treasured pieces is a painting created by the owners' young children – a reminder that behind the impeccable design is a home created for family life.

Custom joinery, premium fittings and carefully selected stone showcase the project's meticulous attention to detail.

Outside, the villa embraces its coastal setting with expansive terraces, an infinity-edge swimming pool clad in travertine, iroko timber decking, and lush landscaped gardens.

Inviting corners are arranged for conversation, quiet reading or simply soaking up the coastal outlook.

A generous pergola also creates a shaded outdoor living room, inviting long afternoons spent overlooking the Mediterranean.

A shaded lounge beneath the pergola extends the home's living spaces into the landscape.

With its seamless balance of classical architecture and contemporary interiors, the villa offers a compelling vision of modern Mediterranean living — one that feels both timeless and entirely its own.

Soft outdoor furnishings bring comfort and texture to the relaxed poolside setting.
