Inside Leonard Williams’ Soulful Coastal Retreat
Bathed in golden Florida light and framed by tropical greenery, this Fort Lauderdale waterfront home is more than a showpiece — it is a sanctuary. Belonging to 2026 Super Bowl winner Leonard Williams and wellness coach and meditation teacher Hailey Lott, the residence reflects a shared commitment to discipline, spirituality and slow living. Designed by former HGTV star Krista Watterworth Alterman of Krista + Home, the space balances contemporary architecture with warmth, texture and a distinctly soulful calm.
From the outset, there was alignment. For a couple whose lives play out on a public stage — Williams as a Pro Bowl defensive end for the Seattle Seahawks, and Lott as co-host of The Mind Games and daughter of NFL Hall of Famer Ronnie Lott — the brief was clear: create a home where they could exhale. The result is a layered, light-filled retreat that speaks to both performance and peace.
A Contemporary Structure Softened with Soul
Set directly on the water in Fort Lauderdale, the three-level, 7,660-square-foot (712-square-metre) home was originally defined by expansive glass, metal railings and sharp minimal lines. Rather than gut the structure, Krista chose to soften its edges. “The challenge consisted in transforming the modern architecture without gutting the structure, balancing the existing features with a new serene aesthetic,” she explains.
Arched windows now frame the water views, while curved silhouettes, sculptural lighting and artisanal finishes temper the framework. Sand tones, sun-washed whites and organic materials introduce warmth without compromising the home’s contemporary integrity. It feels grounded rather than glossy — a decisive move away from cold minimalism toward something more human.
A Design Rooted in Wellness and Slow Living
Wellness anchors every decision. Drawing on boutique spa environments, coastal minimalism and slow-living philosophies, the interiors unfold in a continuous palette of warm neutrals that encourage rest and meditative ease. The atmosphere is intentionally sensory. It is “a home that feels like an exhale,” Krista says. Layered lighting softens transitions from day to night, while tactile materials — natural woods, leathered stone, river rock shower floors, reeded tile and textured linens — invite touch.
This is not decorative excess; it is restraint with purpose. “Luxury here is purposeful, not performative,” Krista adds. Each selection was guided by meaning, functionality and the rhythms of the couple’s life. “The result is a sanctuary that speaks softly but leaves a lasting impression.”
A House Shaped by Ritual
The layout, more closed-concept than the designer typically favours, proved ideal for intimate, curated spaces devoted to ritual. The kitchen and dining areas are designed for daily nourishment and connection — a fitting tribute to Leonard’s passion for cooking, complete with a dry-ager for sushi ritual nights. In the primary suite, a cocoon-like bedroom flows into a spa-style bathroom, where a Japanese soaking tub became an instant favourite. Hailey’s suite includes a tea and ice-cream bar — a playful yet personal touch that reinforces the home’s layered identity.
Elsewhere, a custom gaming lounge displays Leonard’s Pokémon collectibles, while exterior areas and a tranquil pool extend the sanctuary outward, strengthening the dialogue between architecture and nature.
Quiet Luxury with a Pulse
Krista’s calling card — quiet luxury infused with energy — is evident throughout. Sculptural pendants, neutral upholstery, organic shapes and natural fibres create architectural softness without diminishing impact. The home reflects not only its waterfront setting but the vibrant, grounded energy of the couple themselves.
Recently married in Bali and expecting their first child, Williams and Lott have created a space that holds both celebration and stillness. It is contemporary Florida living reimagined through a lens of wellness — a reminder that true luxury lies not in spectacle, but in sanctuary.
