Molteni&C Opens Flagship Store in Vibrant Hong Kong

Italian design heritage meets Asian ambition in Causeway Bay

Italian design house Molteni&C has inaugurated its newest flagship store in Hong Kong, marking a significant step in the brand’s rapid expansion across Asia’s contemporary design landscape. Situated in the luxury district of Causeway Bay, the store cements the brand’s presence in a market increasingly attuned to craftsmanship, material integrity and architectural dialogue.

Opened in partnership with Kitchen Infinity, a respected furniture and kitchen specialist with nearly four decades of experience, the space represents more than retail. Together, the two brands aim to position the flagship as a hub for architects, real estate planners and design professionals, while also hosting exhibitions and events that foster collaboration within Hong Kong’s wider creative community.

Marble surfaces introduce quiet drama, their veining and weight grounding the interiors in timeless restraint

Housed in Cubus, a striking contemporary building known for its sleek façade, the nearly 600-square-metre store unfolds as a series of immersive domestic settings. Two expansive street-facing windows draw natural light deep into the interiors, reinforcing the brand’s ethos of refined yet welcoming living.

Described as a conceptual celebration — “an ode to the protagonists of the architecture world” — the store pays tribute to leading designers including Creative Director Vincent Van Duysen, Herzog & de Meuron, Foster + Partners, Jean Nouvel and Christophe Delcourt. The result is a layered environment that balances architectural rigour with the intimacy of home.

On entering, visitors are welcomed by the 2025 Indoor Collection. The Emile modular sofa is paired with Maylis coffee tables by Delcourt and Monk armchairs by Tobia Scarpa. The Vibrazioni rug by Marta Ferri shimmers subtly under shifting light, complementing travertine flooring, the Arial boiserie by Studio Klass and the 505 system by Nicola Gallizia.

The kitchen environments form a central narrative. A sculptural Intersection island in natural stone anchors the first composition, integrated seamlessly with a table by Van Duysen and Devon stools by Rodolfo Dordoni. The Arc table by Foster + Partners, paired with Monk chairs, elevates the dining setting. Nearby, the Round D.154.5 armchair by Gio Ponti sits alongside Ron Gilad’s Teorema chest of drawers — a dialogue between modernism and expressive form.

Upstairs, the Hi-Line 6 kitchen by Ferruccio Laviani introduces oak finishes and Lunar metal-effect Atelier columns, creating a rich interplay of texture and volume. The adjacent living space pairs the Augusto sofa and Louisa tables by Van Duysen with the Porta Volta armchairs by Herzog & de Meuron, grounded by Ponti’s D.754.1 carpet, originally designed in 1954.

The journey continues through the Ratio kitchen by Van Duysen into a dining setting centred around the Mateo round table and Outline chairs. Atelier columns with glass-fronted niches introduce a sense of scenography, merging storage with theatrical display. Beyond, a walk-in wardrobe reveals the Gliss Master system and the Baltimora central unit — sculptural yet highly functional — while the Hector system guides visitors through the Molteni&C Night Collection.

Concluding the experience is KI CLUB, a private members’ retreat entirely furnished with Molteni&C pieces. Conceived as a creative sanctuary, the club offers curated privileges — from intimate gastronomic evenings with Michelin-starred chefs to exclusive previews and collaborations — reinforcing the brand’s ambition to transform design from product into experience.

In a city defined by vertical density and cultural hybridity, Molteni&C’s Hong Kong flagship stands as a refined statement of Italian craft translated for Asia’s evolving lifestyle landscape — an environment where material, architecture and community converge in the pursuit of living well.
