Cardi B Realises Childhood Dream by Buying Mom a House

Cardi B’s meteoric rise to fame has come with plenty of perks, including dozens of awards, a number of endorsement deals, a high-fashion wardrobe and, as she likes to remind her fans, a bank account laden with zeros. But yesterday the platinum-selling rapper revealed that she had finally achieved what she called her “childhood dream”: buying her mom a house. In a set of short video clips that she shared to Instagram, Cardi—who is in the process of preparing a family home in Atlanta with her husband, Offset—revealed that she'd wanted to buy her mom a home for some time, but ultimately opted to hold off because “the ones I was interested [in] for her weren’t at my price range.” Specifically, she explains in one video, she could only afford to buy a house that cost $600,000 “and, you know, we live in New York.” So the rapper bided her time, waiting to save up for a dream home, which she was finally able to purchase earlier this year. “Thank you everybody who supported me to make my childhood dreams come true!” she wrote, adding that she’s got “big girl bills” to pay now.
In the videos, Cardi B gave fans a tour of the house, which includes a large kitchen with stainless steel appliances and a dark earth-toned backsplash, all revolving around a central kitchen island with marble countertop. The home also boasts a luxurious staircase with wrought-iron railing connecting all three levels of the home. Downstairs lies Cardi's "favorite part" of the house: the finished basement with a gym and large entertaining space. She explained at one point that being able to provide a house for her mother is a really poignant achievement. “I’m emotional,” she said. “I’m just happy that when my daughter visits her grandma’s house, she’s going to come here.”
