Spier Light Art 2026 Illuminates Stellenbosch

From 6 March to 6 April, immersive works bend and shimmer, inviting reflection, play and connection

From 6 March to 6 April 2026, Spier Light Art returns to Spier Wine Farm for its eighth edition, once again transforming the historic estate into an illuminated landscape of curiosity and contemplation. Free to the public and open nightly at dusk, the exhibition invites visitors to immerse themselves – senses first – in a world where light bends, morphs and dances across form.

Set in Stellenbosch, this year’s edition places form centre stage. Installations glow, glimmer and shift across the farm’s pathways and gardens, beckoning interaction and reflection in equal measure. Some works lean into playfulness, encouraging participation and laughter; others offer quieter moments of radiance, prompting meditation on our inner lives, our shared histories and our fragile environment.

Light and landscape merge as glowing installations transform Spier’s historic grounds at dusk

Thoughtfully placed throughout the estate’s historic grounds, the artworks trace a luminous dialogue between art and nature, between past and present, and between individual experience and collective memory. As dusk deepens into night, the farm becomes a canvas for shifting light and shadow, inviting visitors to pause, look again and feel more deeply.

More than an exhibition, Spier Light Art has become a cultural touchstone in the Western Cape’s creative calendar — a space where creativity, community and connection converge under open skies. Entry is free, but bookings are essential. Reservations for access and sunset picnics open in January 2026 via www.spier.co.za.
