Living in an industrial style loft is one of the most unique experiences. On the surface, a beautiful loft apartment can simply look like leaning into the raw materials that surrounds one and adding soft textures and homey touches. But, there is a much more thoughtful process that goes into making an industrial space chic and inviting, whether it is your home or a studio space worthy of entertaining guests.

Soften you surroundings

Use fluidity to soften a harsh space or modern lines. Play with fabric installations to suspend from ceilings or walls, drape tablescapes in oversized linen. Add rambling florals in organic shapes to add romance.

Create Warmth

Lighting is key. Add natural ambience and fill the space with warm, flickering candlelight. This is a great opportunity to tap the Danish philosophy of Hygge to learn the importance and magic of strategic, ambient lighting.

Play with Scale

In a large industrial space small details will get lost, so create drama with scale. Think fabric or floral installations and create height on tables with branches and blooms.

Use Earth-Like Palettes

Use neutral based earthy tones and add elegance and lustre with gilded accents. This can be achieved by virtue of individual pieces of furniture, funky-coloured appliances, or home textiles.

Add Texture

Juxtapose materials to create interest through texture. Mix raw and glazed surfaces, contrast cool surroundings with soft linens and gauzy fabrics.
