Globally designed, locally made, the brand is redefining modular living with its sustainable, smart and undeniably sleek approach to architecture.
Let us introduce BYLD — the modular development company reshaping the way we think about sustainable architecture, remote living and modern travel. Designed with global sensibility and manufactured in regional hubs — among them, Johannesburg — BYLD’s prefabricated ‘pods’ are as elegant as they are eco-conscious.
Debuting their flagship product — a modular, all-timbre pavilion — used to host panels and talks during the 2025 World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, the brand has now landed in South Africa under the direction of its three founders Nael Jaber, Aref Dogmoch and Raoul Skrein. Every BYLD unit is constructed in a high-tech local facility using engineered timber, creating carbon neutral structures that feel effortlessly luxurious — from private residential spaces to lodge accommodation and off grid escapes.
More than a building system, BYLD is a design philosophy: it’s about light-touch living, beautifully executed. Each structure is modular, mobile and low-impact, with clean lines and intelligent detailing that blend seamlessly into their surroundings.
This is where international design meets South African craftsmanship. And the result is something truly remarkable… Thoughtful. Transportable. Future-facing. No wonder we’re obsessed.
