Funniest Travel Story

It must be getting into a huge fight with the head of baggage claims in Addis Ababa when they lost my luggage, which I needed for the episode we were shooting.

I discovered about 6 hours before I was scheduled to board that I was flying out to Ethiopia, due to the scramble to wrap my day up and make the flight I didn't really do a great job packing my bags. This resulted in me putting all my toiletries in my hand luggage. Bad idea! I was forced to either throw out my toiletries or check my hand luggage in too.

When I arrived in Ethiopia my luggage was nowhere to be found. I was shoved from one information desk to another and after screaming my head off, I was threatened with deportation and accused of having "Behavioral Issues" by the head of baggage claims in Ethiopia. My lost luggage finally made it back to me.... 4 weeks later.

My all-time favourite vacation

Tanzania - although I was working the entire week it was one of the best places I've travelled to. Snorkeling and dolphin watching in the clearest water I've ever seen! Oh, and the local food and beer weren't bad at all.

Best meal eaten on a trip

Freshly caught crayfish in Zanzibar. I really don't like exotic flavours but this crayfish was the MVP of all crayfish.

Must pack items

I'm a terrible packer (that's how I lost my luggage in the first place) but I'm super fussy about making sure I have: My full toiletry set (with spare toothbrush), power bank and wireless headphones and my super-secret body pouch to hold all my important travel docs.

Travel motto

"Get lost, really really lost and enjoy trying to find your way back"

Prized travel souvenir

Once in Botswana I found the coolest seshweshwe fabric that my aunt took to make gorgeous pants... She loves them. Or and a small wooden VW beetle toy car, that’s the quirkiest thing on earth that I got in Swaziland.
