Know your Chenin from your Chardonnay? Can you spot the difference between a Merlot and a Shiraz? Then this monthly event might be one to try. Feines Fine Foods Deli on the Atlantic Seaboard, has conceptualised a night where you can more about local wines, while browsing a curated selection of homeware, decor and deli delights.

The deli has a long history with the food industry, as the founder Gabriela Raith has family ties to supplying quality meat products around the country. The Hartlief and Raith families launched their first Hartlief butchery in Windhoek in 1946. The deli follows in those footsteps but also offers a daily harvest table, deli foods and speciality German items (and wine!)

But back to the event, Wine Casino sounds just like what it is: a bit of a gamble. You get to test your knowledge of wine varietals and bet on it. Join other eager patrons and get to see who knows their stuff and who simply has luck on their side. The event has up to 9 rounds of wine, divided into red and white classifications.

Each bottle remains anonymous and the host gives descriptors about the region, flavour profile and soil type. It’s then up to you to decide if you really know what you’re drinking or if you’re feeling lucky, just take a guess. It’s an interactive and intimate evening that’s a great way to engage with food, wine and add some wine estates to your must-visit list. Once the rounds are over, there are prizes to be won for the one who still have chips over.

At the end of the night, everyone wins you’ve gotten insight on our award-winning local wine industry and have some great gift ideas for friends and loved ones. You can also shop the wine selection and curated decor selection.

Book your spot via the official site or give them a call to find out about availability.
