Even if you've never been much of a video game fan, may we suggest playing around with One Kings Lane's new custom furniture tool? It's addictive. No, seriously! Affordable custom furniture has been all the rage as of late, with many companies letting you pick the fabric type, color, and leg shape from a range of frame options. Designed in partnership with Cloth & Company, One Kings Lane's new tool, Palette, takes it a few steps further. When it comes time to choose a pattern—from ornate chinoiserie pagodas, to a cheery lemon print, the classic paisley, and some more subtle styles like stripes and dots—you can also choose the scale. Do you want a super oversize floral or a tiny star print, or the opposite? Palette is here for whatever you decide.
Next, the colors can be customized. Each pattern comes with a set of preselected color combos in case you want to go with a pro's opinion, but they also let you change the background and accent colors to create a unique combination, which is honestly so. much. fun. From there you decide on hardware. Opt for brass caps on the ends of the legs, or not. Add nailheads, or don't. Palette has so many options that you can really create a piece that fits your vibe; we've honestly never seen affordable furniture so adaptable to personal taste. Did we mention the interface is superfast? We're seriously impressed with whatever is happening behind the scenes. And icing on the cake is their 3D visualization technology. You're able to look at your creation in a remarkably lifelike setting, instead of just against a white background, so you can get a better feel for what works. If you need us, we'll be over here dreaming up combinations to our heart's content.
