With so many choices available, it’s easy to see why you would be confused with which flowers to buy. We have listed 5 romantic blooms we think your partner or loved one would adore.

Derived from a Latin word that literally translates into ‘little frog’, ranunculus blooms are pretty, soft and delicate flowers that are cheerful and radiant and an absolute Pinterest favourite. Not only do these flowers brighten your home, but require minimum maintenance to last up to a week, which is great for those that don’t have any green fingers.

Red Roses

No list would be complete without the ever-famous red roses to spoil your loved one. Seen as the ultimate symbol of love and passion, red roses date back to Greek mythology, linked to the Goddess of Love, Aphrodite. They are the most popular blooms over Valentines day and the way many express their love for another. Red roses are a classic and will always be a winner to make someone feel special and loved.

Fluffy and boisterous, peonies are one of the most beautiful and romantic blooms out there. A popular choice for weddings, peonies symbolise prosperity, love and happiness. They also love the sun so be sure to place them where plenty of light will filter through as they blossom over the days. These are a bit more on the pricier side of florals, however they are sure to brighten any space they land in so peonies are a win for us.

Ruffled and petite, carnations are also a symbol of love and a great affordable flower to gift your significant other. These flowers are sometimes overlooked, however they are the second most popular flowers after roses and are a great addition to your bouquet, or even great on their own. Opt for soft, romantic shades like light pink, white or purple, or if you’re feeling daring go for a deep red.

A beautiful flower representing gratitude, grace and beauty, the hydrangeas are small balls of blooms that make for the perfect bouquet. The colour range includes pink, white, purple and blue, lending itself to the softer shades of the colour wheel, increasing its romantic factor. Two or three stems of this flower with a few green leaves peaking through and you’ve got a full bouquet for that special someone.
