The Gourmet Restaurant Awards, reward South African establishments for being the best in the following categories: Décor & Design, Hidden Gem, and Neighbourhood Eatery.

BOSJES Kombuis, Bosjes Wine Farm, Worcester
Located in the heart of the Worcester Winelands, the Bosjes Kombuis is famous for its high wooden ceilings, glass walls that open up the space with the perfect amounts of natural light and a wooden terrace for outside dining on warm, sunny days. What makes the design of this restaurant stand out, even more, is the mural, The Bosjes Tree of Life, made up of 366 tiles painted with the fauna and flora found on the farm and its surroundings. The mural was designed by Cape Town-based artists Lucie de Moyencourt and Michael Chandler.

The Restaurant, Waterkloof Wine Estate, Sir Lowry's Pass, Somerset West
The Restaurant towers above its peers when it comes to architectural design. The modern restaurant space is located in a glass promontory and extends from the wine tasting lounge and gravitational cellar. The Restaurant, located on the Waterkloof Wine Estate, boasts incredible views of the Somerset West region, adding to the overall dining experience.

Idiom Restaurant & Tasting Centre,
Located near Sir Lowry’s Pass, Idiom is one of the southern-most vineyards boasting panoramic views of ocean and mountain. The tasting bar faces Conical Peak while the outdoor terraced seating area within the main restaurant, the Terrazza, offers guests panoramic views of the mountain and vineyards. The design is the perfect fusion of modern and traditional Italian and South African design.
