Trevor Noah’s new year is off to a great start. According to reports, the  Daily Show host recently dropped an eye-popping $20.5 million for a two-story, 10,044-square-foot Bel Air mansion with views of the Pacific Ocean and Catalina Island beyond. The home, which last changed hands in 2015 for $3.745 million, was sold to Noah via a blind trust, but according to real-estate site Yolanda’s Little Black Book, the comedian is definitely its new owner.

Resting on 1.3 acres of hillside property, the ultra-sleek contemporary hit the market in November 2018 for $21 million and was sold just one week later. According to the listing, the spec-built mansion is supremely secure, set behind intense security gates and with Control4 smart home automation. Downstairs, the home boasts a clean-lined glass-and-concrete aesthetic, with an airy living room separated from a formal dining room space by a standalone, modern fireplace situated in the centre of the room. An entire wall of glass sliders opens the living room out onto an outdoor seating area outfitted with inviting white couches, perfect for a sunset beverage. The home also boasts a chic, minimalist kitchen with not one but two marbleized islands; a maid’s quarters; and a home theatre. A massive 500-gallon saltwater aquarium also takes centre stage on the ground floor.

Upstairs, the house boasts four en-suite family/guest bedrooms, with one unmistakably delineated as the master suite (it spans an impressive 2,200 square feet). The entirety of one wall in the master suite is made of glass (other walls are partially made of glass), opening out onto a wraparound terrace with enviable views. The master suite also features two bathrooms, one of which has an egg-shaped deep soaking tub that abuts yet another wall of glass, and two closets. The other three bedrooms also feature stunning views of the landscape around the elevated Bel Air home, with one referred to in the listing as an “ultra-private VIP suite” with its own private terrace.
