Model Kendall Jenner opened her doors to Architectural Digest last week, giving them a tour of her Spanish-style house in Los Angeles, which is the cover story of their latest issue. Dressed impeccably, she gave the magazine a tour of the calm space, which opens out at every turn to the nature surrounding it. Here's what we learnt about Kendall and her decorating style.

.It took a year to renovate the house, with the 'overall vibe' that the model was going for described as 'really peaceful and super calm'. The house is up in the hills of LA and surrounded by nature so Kendall wanted the house to feel very open with lots of windows.

.The house was built in the late 1980s to early 1990s.

.Her renovation team Kathleen and Tommy Clements and Waldo Fernandez are now her 'best friends in the whole world' because they did such an incredible job at creating her dream home.

.She has always wanted a James Turrell artwork so understandably, the thing she's most proud about in the house is his light installation right by the entrance. The piece is called 'Scorpius'.

.Kendall has the fire in the formal living room lit whatever the weather.

.'You always need a good bar' says Kendall, a belief in which she has been influenced by her mother Kris Jenner, so she has a bar area in her house.

.Kendall has created a 'farmhouse style' in the house through her use of colour and fabrics, reupholstering her sofa in a rough neutral to keep that feeling and hanging canvas curtains in some rooms.

.The hardest part of the whole renovation was putting in a stone sink that weighs about 300 pounds. It took a lot of tries to install, with many structural changes made to the walls that support it.

.Kendall has an art studio. She originally created the room as a movie theatre but decided she wasn't using it a lot but she was painting in the garden, so she converted the space as somewhere to create and unwind. She does say 'I'm not good at painting, but I thoroughly enjoy it and consider it a form of therapy so I love coming in here and making really horrible things.'

.The kitchen is 'most definitely the most used room in the house'. Her last house had a white, 'stale' kitchen that she never wanted to cook in but now she's in her forest green and marble idyll, it makes her want to cook all the time.

.The first big piece of art that Kendall ever bought was a pair of Barbara Kruger 'Good/Evil' prints that she purchased at Art Basel; these now live on a wall in the hall to her bedroom.

.Kendall owns a Tracey Emin artwork that she believes refers to a man's penis size.

.The house should have more bedrooms than it does, but Kendall uses one as a dressing room and another as a 'glam room'. Apparently everyone in her family has a 'glam room' and Kendall's is lined with framed magazine covers that she has graced. According to Kendall, it's 'something Kim [Kardashian - her half sister] started a long time ago and I copied her.'

.Kendall has a tea area in her bedroom because she's 'highly addicted to tea.'

.The master bathroom is one of the most structurally renovated parts of the whole house as Kendall raised the height of the ceiling.

.Kendall feels 'like a newborn baby' every time she cleans out her closet, which she does about every two months.

.The whole house is a U shape so everything connects to the garden, which has an outdoor cooking area, firepit, swimming pool and multiple seating areas.
