Established by Cape Town-based photographer Reno Horn, Art is Art is the latest addition to the South African digital space that features the artwork of local artists and makes it easier for the public to take an interest in and invest in art.

Reno is a trained hair and make-up artist and a self-taught photographer with extensive international and local experiences working in print and film. He has worked with renowned clients that include The Evening Standard, MTV and fashion designer Julien MacDonald.

In 2008, Reno set up his own photographic studio and gallery which is the project that then evolved into founding Art is Art. The creation of the online platform was inspired the industry’s need for a space where both emerging and established artists could enjoy exposure with international reach and without the costly overheads that inhibit the success of South African talent.

‘I wanted to create a proudly South African platform with an international reach where I could not only show and sell my own art, but also give other local artists the opportunity to do the same. We have the talent, we have the desire for success and now we have the internet and social media to help us reach a greater audience at a fraction of what it would cost to run an actual gallery.’

‘My goal going forward is to add many more artists to the site and together we can give an international client base a real and honest taste of the raw South African talent who can now all enjoy the same exposure, be they established or on the rise,’ says Reno.

Artists currently featured on the Art is Art website includes Reno Horn himself, Hein Reinders, Beljohn Dean, Charl Juan Solomon, as well as:

Ané-Dallas Orr

Be it fauna or flora, Cape Town-based artist and photographer Ané is inspired by natural beauty in every form. Having worked as a graphic designer and freelance artist in London, Ané now concentrates on art full-time and is a seasoned exhibitor. Her focus is trifold - on simplistic line drawings; highly textural acrylic and ink abstracts and a bold Fynbos Photographic Series.

My photographic Flower Series is now available on Perspex and Hahnemuhle fine art paper and can be purchased online from: www.artisart.co.za @artisart_south_africa . . . #flowers #fynbos #photography #flowerphotography #nature #love #naturephotography #capefloralkingdom #colours #flowerlovers #livecreatively #courageouscreative #contemporaryart #artistsharing #artist #artwork #art #modernart #expressiveart #newlife #naturelovers #natureart #interiorart #interiors #interiordesign #architecture #makersmovement #artlovers #artlife

Barend Paul Barnard

Originally from Oudtshoorn where he held his first exhibit at the Klein Karoo National Arts Festival, Barend now lives in Cape Town where he works full-time from his home studio.  His art focuses on simple human beauty using line and colour but he enjoys exploring new media and has developed an open level art workshop where drawing is used as a mindfulness exercise.
