Open City

Open City is new to the art fair, and is a four-day long arts and culture program across Johannesburg’s gallery districts including Rosebank, Parktown North, and Parkhurst. Open City will offer guests a roadmap of restaurants, bars and cafe’s while partaking in their curated gallery-hopping experience.

Now in its 11th year, the FNB Art Prize will run alongside the fair. You can familiarise yourself with the contestant by previewing the online exhibit. The 2021 recipient will win a showcase at the Johannesburg Art Gallery as well as a significant cash prize.

The current context has encouraged the organisers to find new ways of showcasing the arts in South Africa. The second online edition, together with the Open City weekend will highlight some of the country’s best artistic talent and also showcase Johannesburg as an art and food destination of choice.
