African design takes the global stage at the 2023 London Craft Week

Merchants on Long will showcase the finest African design in an inspired and beautiful exhibition

Since its inception, Merchants on Long has been the definitive shopping destination for African art, fashion and decor. It has, over the years, championed local artists artisans, and showcased their work both in South Africa and the global stage.

Now, Merchants on Long will present the finest in African contemporary design at the 2023 London Craft Week, happening from 8 – 14 May, driven by Neïth Assogbavi. The carefully curated exhibition will include an eclectic selection of handmade homeware and fashion from across the African continent. The exhibition will take place at the Frieze Gallery on London's Cork Street, with a special talk by Christine Checinska, the Lead Curator of the Exhibition Africa Fashion at the Victoria and Alfred Museum. The talk will focus on African fashion, and will take place between 16h30 – 17h30 at the exhibition.
