Few week’s are more exciting on the global design calendar than Milan Design Week. Kicking off on Tuesday 16 April 2024, all eyes will be on Milan where Salone del Mobile. Milano brings together the world’s most forward-thinking minds in design.

As editors of House & Garden SA, we look for trends and big ideas, new furniture launches, and exhibits showcasing fabulous aesthetics in decorative and material solutions for personalising our homes. Keep an eye out for more from the House & Garden SA team during Milan Design Week 2024.

At edition number 62 – which involves more than 1,950 exhibitors from 35 different countries – is marking a further leap forward following the confirmation of the validity and success of the design approach adopted at the previous edition, the Salone has adopted the pioneering support of neuroscience and the aegis of a “people first” philosophy to revise the arrangement of the companies within the exhibition area in order to create groups of exhibitors that are similar in terms of content and visitor target and generate homogeneous clusters, amplifying the value of the visitor experience.

International Furnishing Accessories Exhibition

Consider how some of the design objects in your home have the power to make any space hyper unique and personal. That’s what we’re keeping in mind as we meander through the International Furnishing Accessories Exhibition, a wonder-filled creative showcase with a kaleidoscope of objects. What brings all these pieces together at the exhibition is, as always, research, quality and attention to aesthetic detail.

Think of the objects (both small and large), as vessels for extraordinary stories, each piece carrying a narrative value that manages to imbue a space with personality.

Our editors’ eyes will be on the lookout for inspiring rugs, vases, ceramic objects, consoles, fabrics and wallpaper, all that help embellish and punctuate domestic spaces to convey emotions.

In the pursuit of enriching our homes furnishing sphere and now, more than ever, coming up with many and varied aesthetic options, in which the protagonists are increasingly sophisticated objects and products, fluid and almost sartorial, responding to the interior decoration and personalisation demands of every home.

International Bathroom Exhibition

2024 marks the 10th edition of the International Bathroom Exhibition, which will champion new materials and aesthetics and design languages, nature, sustainability and a great desire for wellbeing.

With our bathrooms fast becoming a a room that is now the focus of the most sustainable interior design trends, our editors will keep their eyes on textiles, fittings, and innovations that will shape our relationships with the planet through our bathrooms. After all, the design of our bathrooms are all about a high quality and durable product and a customisable and relaxed wellbeing experience.

Adherence to eco-design principles is increasingly important, from the sourcing of raw materials to production, from the final product to its care and disposal process. For years, bathroom furniture companies have been investing in research and innovation to come up with products with low environmental impact. This has led them reflect far more deeply on the water footprint, the production cycle and materials.
