Cécile celebrates the life and work of Cécile Tilley, a design doyenne, style icon, founder and ongoing inspiration behind renowned interior design studio and retail company, Cécile & Boyd.

Put together by creative duo Kerryn Fischer and Luanne Toms, Cécile is a memoire filled with beautiful visuals ranging from archival family snaps to photographs from some of Cécile & Boyd’s early projects.

Particularly apparent throughout the book is the respect and admiration that was widely held for Cécile. A pioneer in so many ways, for mixing crockery long before it was a trend, decorating Cécile & Boyd’s Durban showroom as an experiential home-like space rather than a store and showcasing African motifs at a time before it was fashionable to do so made her a lifestyle savant and designer ahead of her time.

The release of the book was timed to coincide with the celebration of the company’s 30th anniversary and although Cécile passed away in 2014 her energy still informs the company’s aesthetic and attitude today. Cécile & Boyd is still the award-winning design studio who is renowned for their various luxury residential projects around the world and visually captivating online store as well as their locations in Durban, Cape Town.

The book is available for sale via Cécile & Boyd and for more about Cécile or the interior design studio visit cecileandboyds.com.
