The first of a series of structures in a mixed-use development, this three-storey building was intended to set the tone for the quality of design and visible attunement to its natural surrounds: an undulating terrain peppered with indigenous trees.

With Nairobi situated on the equator, the north and south aspects of the building’s façade are identical. The deeply recessed curtain wall is fully shaded at all times by deep, horizontal steel-grate shading on the north and south sides, and motorised perforated aluminium fins on the east and west façades. This allowed for the glass to be taken to full height – from slab to slab, with maximum natural daylight and optimal views.
