The Trenery Guild is a collaborative project which sees Trenery partnering with some of South Africa’s leading artists, artisans, and craftspeople. The Pienaar & Son x Trenery Guild collaboration is the fourth and final in the series. It launched on 12 June at the Trenery Sandton City store in Joburg. The custom-bottled, exclusive Pienaar & Son x Trenery Guild gin is a great gift idea for this Father’s day. The father and son duo has created a limited edition gin infused with sage, orange, and lemon.
Andre Pienaar, former frontman for rock band Ashtray Electric, studied biochemistry before joining his father Schalk Pienaar, a chemical engineer with more than 40 years in the distilling business.
As the co-founder and Master Distiller of South African Pienaar & Son, he brings together traditional ingredients with a contemporary twist, creating craft spirits with modern heritage. Their vision is to create an innovative spirit collection that has become the DNA of the highly respected niche craft distillery.
‘It was important for us that the base of the gin is historical traditional, but there’s a very modern and fresh note that comes through with the surprising and complex sage and orange combination,’ explains Andre.
