For the next instalment in this ongoing Double Tap series, the H&G team dug deep in their saved archives to share designs, people and interior pieces that inspire them. With so much design inspiration and limited characters, here are our favourite posts of the week. We hope it inspires you too and don’t forget to follow our Instagram account.

Cosy comforts

“I am a firm believer that comfort and style should always share an inter-reliant relationship. This living room, with its warm interiors and cosiness called to me. I could see myself vegging out on this inviting couch and having a Harry Potter marathon the entire weekend.” - Kauthar Gool, Digital Editor

Melodic design

“It's not often that furniture can surprise you. But in the case of Hemmo Honkonen's audible furniture collection, he does just that. Including a chair, stool, decorative sculptures, and cabinets, each piece makes music when you interact with them. Now if that isn't absolutely delightful, then I don't know what is!” - Edwain Steenkamp, Decor and Features Editor

Resurrect and repurpose

“Although this project was completed in 2003, I'm still in awe of the concept. The geniuses at Naumann Architektur renovated a rather dilapidated pig-sty, built in 1780, into a gorgeous exhibition space. The original building was damaged during WWII with only makeshift repairs keeping it standing over the years. It's a beautiful exercise in resurrecting crumbling structures with simple solutions – in this case a wooden skeleton. I'd love to see more of this in the renovation space." - Walter Hayward, Managing & Syndication Editor

Circular museums and stunning architecture

“How cool is the design of this museum?! It reminds me of the Zeitz MOCAA. The circular forms look incredibly smooth as if it was carved into. I absolutely love when architectural design is an art form itself.” - Taahirah Luddy, Junior Graphic Designer

Let them eat cake!

“Sometimes cake can feel just too pretty to dig into, just look at these marvelous designs!” - Lesley Mathys, Group Managing & Syndication Editor
