What could be a more perfect match than Vans and Van Gogh? Well, if the Van Gogh Museum has any say, they would agree. The brand best known for its checkerboard skate shoes and off-duty apparel has teamed up with one of the world’s most famous artists, Vincent Van Gogh (or at least the museum dedicated to his name and work), releasing a series of shoes and clothes honouring Dutch artist.

Choosing four of Van Gogh’s most iconic works, Skull, Almond Blossom, Sunflowers and his self-portrait to reinvent, the collection has brought to life his artwork in a modern context — proving a great painting can make for an even better print.

The collection, which sees the paintings attached to Vans shoes, jumpers, T-shirts and accessories, is certainly perfect for any art lover, and would pair nicely with Louis Vuitton’s collaboration with Jeff Koons, which saw the artist recreate some of the most famous works of art on bags — including one from Van Gogh.

“We are delighted with the Vans x Van Gogh Museum collection, as it ties in with our mission to make the life and work of Vincent van Gogh accessible to as many people as possible in order to enrich and inspire them”, says Adriaan Dönszelmann, managing director of the Van Gogh Museum. “By uniting Van Gogh’s iconic artworks with iconic Vans styles, our partnership brings Vincent’s art ‘Off The Wall’ and into the world to a new audience outside the museum.”

But the best part? All proceeds from the artistic collection go towards the museum, meaning more people can enjoy Van Gogh for years to come.

The Vans x Van Gogh Museum Collection will be available from August 3.
