Beloved Conde Nast House & Garden South Africa hosted its very first Garden Day celebration in partnership with the jewel of Somerset West, Vergelegen Wine Estate. Known for its breathtaking gardens, exquisite wine and culinary delights, the enchanting event hosted on the 21 October 2023 was a beautiful affair filled with picnics, laughter and bountiful blooms galore!
With over 300 guests in attendance, there was plenty to do during the afternoon across the lush gardens throughout the estate. As you strolled through the gardens making your way to the Great Lawn area, the Manor House offered some historic snippets of this 323 year old wine estate along with the National Heritage trees among other wonderful sights. Besides the well-curated picnic boxes the attendees received, Tastic hosted a more-ish harvest table filled with sweet and savoury bites throughout the day. Sir Juice also kept everyone rehydrated and refreshed with juices and smoothies to tantalize the tastebuds. There were also a host of market vendors from Loot supplying beautiful books, to Wedgewood stocking our favourite nougat.
Flower crown workshops along with wall succulents were hosted throughout the day, allowing guests to get creative with their own take-home activities. Guests also received a beautiful goodie bag filled with trinkets and treasures from Lush Cosmetics, Cape Aqua, Wedgewood and Pri Pear.
While the wind was not on our side, the sun certainly played its part in allowing for an overall, beautiful Garden Day experience that we are already excited about for 2024!
