The best ways to decorate your home garden

The Modern Garden

Modern gardens are usually minimalistic in style. It originated from the belief that less is more and the more monochromatic the colours are, the better. But that does not imply that modern gardens should be limited to a particular design only. There are a wide variety of ideas you can adapt according to your preference.

The Spanish and Mediterranean Look

If you want a combination of the Spanish and Mediterranean look, opt for a rock garden. Make use of pots or other containers and put them in strategic places to create a unique look. But also make sure that they are monochromatic, meaning the pots only have one colour, and its designs are only minimal.

Since it is a rock garden, you would need rocks. But you should keep in mind that you should not use them excessively. If you do, your garden will look too overwhelming and overcrowded. The rocks, as well as clean and beautiful landscape edging, will make your lawn trendy and aesthetically pleasing.

Geometric Aesthetics

If you have a more aesthetic preference, a garden following a geometric design is the best choice for you. With this, you can plant flowers or trees in rows or other patterns you like. You can also make use of various ornamental plants to create an accentuated look. You can also use them as the border of rows of plants you have earlier planted.  For pavements, you can make use of tiles with patterns and colours. But then again, remember that a modern garden should be monochromatic so maintain the colours in a single tone only.

The Romantic Garden

A romantic garden is a perfect place for you and your family or special someone to gather and bond. Such gardens are filled with tall trees, leafy vines and flowers like roses.  For a more romantic feel, you can choose to have a small pond in your garden and have a wooden walkway over it.

You can also put weather-proof chairs and tables so you can easily accommodate guests in the area. Swings are also great add-ons to such types of garden. Lights can give your garden a more dramatic look at night. Use the lights to line the walkways or the patio. You can also put a spotlight to be focused on the specific area of the garden you want to highlight.  Just make sure that you keep in mind the basic rule in creating such types of gardens, which is to be as minimalistic as possible and keep the colours in a monochromatic tone
