The Johannesburg Garden Club (JGC) is one of the oldest in the country and houses a large collection of the best gardeners in their club.

For their Open Gardens Meander 2018 event, JGC will open five previously unseen gardens to the public to raise funds for Johannesburg Child Welfare. With sustainable gardening more popular than ever, this year’s Meander will focus on sites producing herbs, fruits and vegetables from inspiring kitchen gardens.

The unique and individual gardens range from charming to sprawling, with each boasting showstopping water features. Every garden will also feature a plant sale with individual specialties, including Clivias, Azaleas, Clematis, Irises and Johannesburg Garden Club members’ own cultivated plants.

The Open Gardens Meander has something exciting in store for everyone and will take place on Saturday 15th and Sunday 16th of September 2018 from 10am to 5pm at five different locations in the suburbs of Bryanston and Atholl. Refreshments and a tea garden will also be available at one of the gardens, giving visitors plenty of opportunity to relax and refresh.

Tickets, at a cost R250 per person, must be pre-booked by going to www.johannesburggardenclub.co.za, where further information about the event will also be found.
