The holidays are best enjoyed with good friends, great food and smooth sippin' Jack Daniel's. Take a look at 8 of our favourite whiskey-based cocktail recipes courtesy of Jack Daniel’s.

JACK DANIEL’S TENNESSEE MULE

The fiery spice of ginger with the smoothness of Jack. If You find the fire of ginger beer a bit too challenging for your taste buds, then try swapping for ginger ale.  This sweeter alternative still delivers the taste of ginger but without the intense kick.

Ingredients

50ml Jack Daniel’s Old No.7

Ginger beer

squeeze of lime

Method

¾ fill a highball glass with cubed ice

Pour Old No.7 over ice

Add remaining ingredients and stir

Add lime wedge to garnish

JACK DANIEL’S LYNCHBURG LEMONADE

A taste of Lynchburg and Summer over ice. If you visit Lynchburg, Tennessee, you’re pretty much guaranteed a warm welcome and a cool glass of lemonade. Some may call this a gesture of Southern hospitality, but at Jack Daniel’s it’s just called “hello”. And, if you stick around for a minute or two longer, you might very well get offered a splash of Jack to go along with it. That’s how you know you went from “visitor” to “friend”

Ingredients

35ml Jack Daniel’s Old No.7

12.5ml Triple sec

12.5ml fresh lemon juice

lemonade

Method

¾ fill a highball glass over cubed ice

Pour Old No.7 over ice

Add remaining ingredients and stir

Add lemon wedge to garnish

SINGLE BARREL OLD FASHIONED

A cocktail classic elevated to the top shelf. It might sound obvious, but some folks forget that ice is a crucial component of most cocktails. And not all ice cubes are created equal. Larger cubes have as greater surface area which slows down the melting and causes less dilution of your drink. So, before you treat yourself to a Single Barrel Old Fashioned, you might consider treating yourself to a proper ice cube mould. You’ll be glad you did.

JACK DANIEL’S HONEY GINGER

A refreshingly simple mix of honey and ginger. Opposites may not attract, but they can certainly share a drink.  Tennessee Honey & Ginger Ale is a twist on a classic Jack drink.  Enjoy in great company.

Ingredients

50ml Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Honey

Ginger ale

Method

¾ fill a highball glass with cubed ice

Pour Jack honey over ice

Top with ginger ale

Add lime wedge to garnish

JACK DANIEL’S HONEY SMASH

Perfect for sippin’ on a hot summer day or night. Why is it called a “smash”? Because, when you put a little extra effort into shaking up this classic cocktail, the ice smashes the mint leaves into small pieces.

Ingredients

50ml Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Honey

6-8 mint leaves

12.5ml lemon juice

12.5ml simple syrup

Crushed ice

Method

½ fill a cocktail shaker with cubed ice

Add all ingredients and shake vigorously for 15-20 seconds

2/3 fill a highball glass with crushed ice

Strain the liquid into the glass

Add mint sprig to garnish

GENTLEMAN’S SOUR

A sour made for sippin’. The shaking of a cocktail can make or break the finish of a good drink.  The most common shakers used in bars are called “Boston Shakers”. These take some practice to perfect and are definitely not for beginners. Most at-home shakers are called “Cobble Shakers”. These are relatively easy to use and easy to find in stores. However, you can also opt for using any sealable, cylindrical container at home and save your money for another bottle of Gentleman Jack.
