Premium drinks company, Truman & Orange, are known for bringing top-notch liquor brands like the Malfy Italian Gin range and more recently Ryan Reynolds’ Aviation gin to South Africa.
The company recently launched another handcrafted super-premium gin, Brooklyn Gin, which is made one small batch at a time, using traditional artisan spirit-making methods.
Truman & Orange owner, Rowan Leibbrandt shared, ‘It begins with selecting and preparing the finest natural ingredients for the carefully-honed recipe. No detail is spared: Juniper berries are hand-cracked. Unlike most gins, the Eureka lemon, Key and Persian lime, navel oranges and kumquats (so typical of Brooklyn) are used are fresh, not dried. They’re then hand-cut to release essential oils and bring out the true essence and complexity of the ingredients.’
Truman & Orange shared that the best way to enjoy Brooklyn Gin’s fresh, flavourful and complex taste is to drink neat. However, if the mixed gin cocktail is more your speed, take a look at the two recipes below that pair perfectly with Brooklyn’s flavour profile.
