Windfall Wine is a small boutique wine farm located in the Agterkliphoogte Valley near Robertson, Western Cape. They recently created a luxury breakfast experience featuring their Windfall Mendola Méthode Cap Classique as the star of the show.

The indulgent Blanc de Blanc possesses hints of peach, guava and orange blossoms that follow through onto the palate with beautiful nutty flavours, which turns out to be the perfect accompaniment to freshly baked pancakes, served on gorgeous handmade Rialheim flatware of course.

Founded by Rial Visagie in 2012 Rialheim is a ceramic studio based in Robertson that works with a small group of ceramic artists who create artworks and lifestyle essentials inspired by diverse African culture. The studio also recently launched a new retail store in the heritage precinct of Rand Steam in Richmond Johannesburg.

Take a look at the Blueberry pancake recipe below which you can pop the cork of a Windfall Mendola Méthode Cap Classique with, treating yourself to the ultimate #BubblesInBed experience.

Blueberry Protein Pancakes

These blueberry protein pancakes are super easy to make, and you can enjoy them guilt-free.

Yields 8 small pancakes or 4 large pancakes

Ingredients

1 cup oats

2 bananas

4 eggs or 4 ‘flax’ eggs for a vegan version (1 tablespoon of flax seeds and 3 tablespoons of water replace one egg)

4 teaspoons baking powder

1-2 scoops protein powder

Pinch of salt

Pinch of cinnamon

Handful of fresh blueberries

Method

Run everything through a blender until well mixed.

Heat a non-stick pan to medium heat. Add batter in small circles, sprinkle some fresh blueberries on top. Turn them over and cook until they are done.

Enjoy with honey and double cream Greek yoghurt or maple syrup and coconut yoghurt for a vegan version.
