Renowned musician J’Something, is a long-time friend of the Nespresso brand which makes him the perfect connoisseur to bring the new Nespresso Master Origins coffees to life. The chef and muso experimented with each unique flavour profile of the new Nespresso Master Origin coffees to create something special—to pay homage to the craft, commitment, and care that goes into the development of each of these coffees, from bean to cup.

For him, celebrating these Master Origins and their processes meant showcasing the versatility of coffee—by re-imagining how coffee can and should be enjoyed, and he has successfully transformed your average coffee moment into something magical.

Treat yourself to this Coffee G&T and Sangria de Fonseca and find out what J'Something had to say about creating these recipes.

Coffee G&T

This Nespresso Master Original Columbia coffee is by far the easiest drinking espresso in the range. It’s beautifully sweet due to a very interesting ‘black honey’ process they do in Nicaragua. When I experience this coffee I thought about ease, I thought about that stress-free kind of day we all desire. With that said, I don’t know about you but there is no easier drink than a G&T on summer’s day. The unique experience here is taking the time to prepare, ahead of time, your coffee ice blocks that infuse the perfectly balanced and unique coffee gin and tonic.

What you need

2 capsule Nespresso Master Origin Nicaragua, brewed as lungos

1 tsp honey

35 ml local Gin

Ice cubes

250ml tonic water

Lemon peel, sliced, to garnish

What to do

Brew the coffee

Add honey to coffee and stir, allow to cool.

Pour most of the coffee into ice cube trays, reserving 10ml.

Put ice tray in the frees and allow to freeze. Keep frozen until ready to serve.

Place 2 - 3 coffee ice cubes in a glass.

Pour gin over ice cubes.

Add 10ml of chilled coffee and then top up with tonic water

Add a piece of lemon peel to garnish and serve.

Sangria de Fonseca

This Nespresso Master Origin Colombia coffee is by far my favourite from the range. It’s so well-balanced and offers a full-mouth experience for me. With that said, I really wanted to take that beautiful berry note that I was picking up in the coffee and transform it into one of my favourite summer drinks, a sangria. Get ready to have an incredible festive experience as you make this in big jugs around a table and enjoy the sunshine. It’s refreshing and extremely unique, so it’s bound to be a crowd pleaser.
