Reese Witherspoon is both professional and personable in everything she does, and the mantra extends even—if not especially—into how she chooses to adorn her sprawling, sun-filled Los Angeles home. A new cover profile for Vogue not only reveals how Witherspoon continues to fight the status quo but also gives a little glimpse into the multi-hyphenate’s home, which is just as, well, sunny, as the actress herself. One of the first, most prominently personalized items that greets guests is a welcome mat that reads “Hey Y’all” (importantly, available at Bed Bath and Beyond). What's more: Witherspoon also has tote bags that say “Totes Y’all” and sweatshirts that say “Vote Y’all” and “Be Kind Y’all” as part of her Draper James clothing and accessories line.

Also, giant pumpkins sit outside the front door of her home, adding a fun, whimsical touch to the otherwise rustic, sophisticated façade.

Inside, some of Witherspoon’s decor consists of a mix of family photos and award statues, including her Oscar for her portrayal of June Carter in 2005’s Walk the Line. “I used to hide my Oscar,” she tells Vogue. “But then I was like, ‘Why shouldn’t I put it out here in the living room?’” Also on the bookshelves—which take up an entire wall of the living room—are stacks of hardbound scripts from films Witherspoon has either starred in or produced (or both, in the case of 2014’s Wild). The majority of the profile, though, takes place in Witherspoon’s enviable kitchen, which has made numerous appearances on her social media accounts. Indeed, with a white subway tile backsplash, unique gray-blue cabinets, and an oversize marble-topped center island perfect for gathering and gabbing over tasty treats, the kitchen feels to be the center of Witherspoon’s home.

Also downstairs is a splendid dining room featuring a long, dark wooden table that can easily seat eight, with a spiky-edged chandelier hanging from the ceiling. In a 2014 episode of Vogue’s “73 Questions,” Witherspoon revealed that she would most love to host a dinner with all the female senators and would cook lasagna for the fête. Opposite the dining room, across the front entryway, is the aforementioned living room boasting all of Witherspoon’s books (she has an Oprah-like book club that has amassed more than 900,000 followers), as well as a stylish retro leather couch, a carved marble fireplace, and a grand piano that sits in the front bay window of the home. But it’s perhaps the backyard that was most memorable from that “73 Questions” interview: In addition to well-manicured green lawns, the outdoor space includes a spacious patio, a sparkling swimming pool and spa, a fruit and vegetable garden, and a trampoline. She and husband Jim Toth purchased the 10,000-square-foot Pacific Palisades home in 2014 for $12.7 million.
