Critically acclaimed ceramicist Madoda Fani and Southern Guild have revealed his latest collection of ceramics, iQweqwe, and design collaboration with BMW.

The Cape Town based artist is know for his minimalistic and elegant clay ceramics which he crafts using hand-coiled, burnished and smoke-fired skills acquired throughout his career and travels.

Fani’s iQweqwe collection of carved ceramics includes 12 hand-coiled works and a custom-designed wrap for the BMW X7 featuring his signature patterns inspired by his African heritage. The illusion of movement created by the rippled surfaces of Fani's ceramics becomes a larger-than-life reality when applied to the BMW X7.

Southern Guild and Madoda Fani will be showcasing the collection in the Southern Guild gallery until 17 September 2021. Take a look at a few of the pieces in the iQweqwe collection below.
