Gucci might be fairly new to the  homeware game, but they’re surely no less savvy when it comes to dishing out the kind of product that keeps us coming back for more. Case in point: just when we thought we’d familiarised ourselves with every item in the debut Gucci Décor collection, creative director Alessandro Michele throws us a curve ball by releasing a whole new set of furniture, furnishings and decorative items.

While certainly not a major stylistic departure from the colourful quirk and old-world charm of its predecessors, the Gucci Décor universe has expanded to include more animal-imbued prints across a range of furniture and small items like throw pillows, ceramics, candles, vases and incense paraphernalia.

Utilising the snake, tiger and bee motifs now recognisable within the Gucci aesthetic, you can also find talismans decorated with ‘Maison de ‘l’Amour’ and ‘Urtica Ferox’ graphics or a star eye design. The range is brought to life in vivid detail thanks to a set of mysterious illustrations by Alex Merry.

There is also a new range of ornate side tables, trays, room dividers, dining chairs and two new styles of armchairs upholstered in ornate and decadent fabrics and a capitonné porter’s chair with drawer, available in leather or velvet.

Furthermore, Gucci has launched an augmented reality portion of their app which allows users to imagine what Gucci Décor pieces will look like in their own home. Accessible in the Gucci Décor section of the app, this represents a whole new way of shopping—one that we can see happening more and more in the future. Trust Gucci to get it right again.
