It doesn’t matter if you can’t tell your clear quartz from deep purple amethyst, esoteric decor items are here to stay. Touted as a Gen-Z obsession, crystals, salt lamps and all that good stuff are here to stay. #Crystaltok is all the rage with over 5 billion views on TikTok alone. And no matter your age, it’s easy to add more of that to your space. Whether you truly believe in the power of something shiny, it can add dimension to your space. Here’s some simple ways to bring this into your home.

Shiny, shiny crystals

Who doesn’t love a beautiful crystal? Coming in a variety of shapes, sizes and colours - there is something for everyone. Even if you don’t believe in the metaphysical properties of crystals, they are a simple way to inject colour and shiny materials into your home. If you don’t like them, you can gift to another or simply have them outside. Alternatively, get a salt lamp and add peaceful, slightly muted lighting to your space. You can find them locally, via Instagram or Facebook, or visit a brick and mortar to see them up close.

Get some sense with incense

Scented candles are delightful, but if you want a change of pace from the usual - incense is a simple way to scent your home. An age-old art that harks back to ancient Egyptian times, incense has been part of cultural traditions for millennia. You’ve probably seen incense burnt at temples and other religious sites for celebration or holy days. For a sustainable twist, you can also try your hand making your own at an incense making workshop.

Singing sounds of harmony

Singing bowls, gongs and chimes are a statement piece with a practical use too. You may have spotted a celeb or two with big opaque or brass bowls in their home. Originally a part of long-lived Buddhist religious practices, the bowls or standing bells are used accompany chanting and meditative sessions. Whether you pick big or small, these bowls are a great way to fill up a space or host your own soundbath session.

Soundbaths? Let us break it down for you. Soundbaths are a meditative experience where sound frequencies (think gongs, chimes or singing bowls) are used to create an echoing sound that help ease the mind and spirit.
