Brass, Copper And Soft Light
The restrained palette is warmed by smaller details. Handcrafted brass and copper appear across the hardware, taps and round preparation sink, adding flashes of warmth against the paler cabinetry and cool marble.
Lighting plays an equally important role. As the evening light fades, deVOL's Heirloom Task Lights create intimate pools of illumination across the work surfaces rather than flooding the entire room with bright, uniform light. Instead of attempting to recreate a period kitchen, the scheme borrows the qualities that make traditional English interiors enduring — natural materials, craftsmanship, symmetry, warmth and restraint — and interprets them through a cleaner modern lens.
The result is a kitchen that feels neither overly nostalgic nor aggressively contemporary. It is calm, practical and quietly luxurious, proving that when the architecture already has a strong story to tell, sometimes the smartest design decision is simply to listen to it.
