Rock House Turks and Caicos

If panoramic ocean views and luxury resort living is everything you dream of and more, the Rock House Resort located in the Turks and Caicos islands was designed with you in mind. The new Grace Bay Resorts development open its doors to guests in January 2022 and is a private resort escape that features 42 Capri, French and Mediterranean inspired homes. The Rock House Resort is nestled into the spectacular coastline and offers views made of dreams, a secluded private beach and an exclusive beach club.

The Maybourne Riviera

Dubbed the ‘Jewel of the French Riveria’ by The Maybourne Hotel Group, The Maybourne Riviera hotel is a modern architectural edifice located on the slopes Roquebrune-Cap-Martin, France between Menton and Monte Carlo. The Maybourne Hotel Group recruited the talents of six designers namely, André Fu, Bryan O’Sullivan Studio, Marcelo Joulia, Pierre Yovanovitch, Pascal Goujon, and Rigby & Rigby to design unique spaces inspired by the movement of the sea, the verdant landscape and the spectacular views beyond. The hotel is set to officially open in March 2022.

Grumeti Serengeti River Lodge

andBeyond is reimagining their Grumeti Serengeti River Lodge famous for the renewing remote travel experience on the banks of the Serengeti River in Tanzania. The remodel includes 10 light-filled guest suites that feature spectacular views and a private pool.

The distinct design of the lodge is inspired by Tanzania’s traditional Masai manyatta homesteads, the vibrant colours of the fishing communities surrounding Lake Victoria and unique materials that are traditionally used for home decoration and furnishings such as Kitenge fabrics and hippo hide.

Boca de Agua

Designed by Mexican architect Frida Escobedo, Boca de Agua is a new environmentally conscious destination situated in Bacalar, Mexico that is set to open in the second half of 2022. The Design Hotels destination member features 22 houses located in the Yucatán jungle in the Bacalar Lagoon area which is also an 82-acre nature reserve and reforestation site.

KAI Poroto

KAI Poroto is an architecturally striking hot spring inn or ryoko, located on Lake Poroto in Japan. Part of the Hoshino Resorts collection, the distinct cone-shaped Onsen bathhouse is inspired by traditional Ainu architecture presents travellers with an opportunity to submerge themselves, relax and emerge feeling renewed. KAI Poroto has been open for business since mid-January 2022.

Sommerro

LPO Architects in collaboration with New York and London GrecoDeco are reimagining the former headquarters of Oslo Lysverker, Sommerro’s original electrical company, into an Art Deco-inspired design hotel. Located in Oslo, the redesign will celebrate the building’s 1930s heritage and be home to Sommerro’s first rooftop bar and pool.
