A collection of historic farmstead buildings dating back to the early 1900s have been restored and re-imagined creating a unique hospitality experience in Stellenbosch. The establishment’s white-walled Cape Dutch heritage is complemented by elegant interiors across the hotel’s three country houses, which together comprise a total of 22 bedrooms. Integration into the renowned De Volkskombuis restaurant, provides the perfect venue for dining with an unparalleled selection of local wines.

In partnership with the Remgro Group, Tsogo Sun Hotels welcomes Stellenbosch’s luxury boutique hotel, De Stellenbosch to its Management portfolio.

“The Group is delighted to introduce Tsogo Sun Hotels’ warmth and hospitality to one of Cape Town’s best tourist destinations. The hotel is perfectly located for Cape Town getaways and wine-country breaks, being positioned in the centre of Stellenbosch just 30-minutes from Cape Town International Airport and within easy reach of the areas’ more than 145 vineyards. The addition of this hotel enhances our luxury offering in the Cape Region, complementing properties such as the Arabella, Golf Resort and Spa in the Overberg and well known hotels such as the Southern Sun Cullinan in the Cape Town City, ” says Marcel von Aulock, Tsogo Sun Hotels CEO, “we‘d like to thank Remgro for their faith in entrusting the management of this property to the Tsogo Sun Hotels Group.”

“The development of De Stellenbosch is part our continued commitment to preserving the heritage buildings of Stellenbosch and the promotion of tourism to the town and the greater winelands region, that is so important to the economic growth and development of the country as a whole,” says Jannie Durand, Remgro CEO, “while the impact of Covid-19 has clearly been unimaginably hard on the hospitality industry, we remain confident in the long term potential of this industry and the benefits it brings to South Africa.”
